#Repost @eclectictope (@get_repost) ・・・ WHO TOLD YOU THAT YOU WERE NAKED? Gen 3 Ever read this scripture and wondered why eating from the tree of knowledge was forbidden? I mean, it is knowledge. Since when was knowledge a bad thing? The serpent deceived Eve by saying you won't die, you'll only truly see what's going on (MSG) And here exactly is where the problem lies. What is going on isn't your business if God says it isn't. In our daily living, we will be confronted by the knowledge of the world around us, conveniently backed up with statistics and data. Statistics that show that women over 45 cannot have children. Examples that show that you must have cracked your desired industry by age 25 if you really want to make it. Twitter threads that tell you that you can't love again after trust has been broken before. We are eating of the tree of the knowledge of our world, digesting what God did not say. You are being traumatised that your own life isn't following the popular path of school - marriage - kids, carrying shame from a previous event like getting pregnant at 18 or not getting pregnant after 10 years of marrige, you are internalising fears arising from the knowledge that statistics show ''kids from divorced homes are very likely to grow up and divorce too.'' So you take the statistics and run with it. But did God who created you and knows your end from your beginning say any of these things? Eating from the tree is what let Adam and Eve suddenly realise one fact that God had basically been shielding them from. The fact that they were naked. When they had no knowledge of what nakedness was, there was no need to be ashamed. The tree of knowledge represents why we must get to the point where we are able to trust God's decision for our lives completely without consulting anything or letting anyone's input matter. We must trust God's plan for us enough to not wonder about alternate knowledge. The sin of Eden wasn't just disobedience, it was choosing the knowledge of the world over the sovereignty of God. #Bookstagram #Bookphotography #Bookish #Bible #BibleJournaling #Biblesxcoffee #Devotion #faithblogger #biblestudy #Genesis
#Repost @debbyhub (@get_repost) ・・・ The attitude that sells the idea that no other person's opinion should matter to you, is a faulty one. Other people's opinions matter. What's relevant is finding and surrounding yourself with the right people who are constantly learning and have an wholesome perspective. Let their opinions matter to you(In the multitude of counsellors, there is safety Proverbs 15:22). And no matter how super and great you are, you're never always right. We all need to depend on the right people. Nevertheless, be independent. Develop an wholesome perspective and let your personality shine through without fear. In other words, sparkle. ✨ The peak, like Joyce states, is to have a balanced independence. I take it for granted here that you trust/depend on God. Depend on the right people too. Like Daniel, the right friends will boost your faith and keep you going. You don't thrive by trying to be an island of your own. However, always establish your individual identity. Live outside of the pressure to be like everyone around. You'll be better off for it. ❤🎈❤

Psalm 25:14 The Lord is the friend of those who obey him and he affirms his Covenant with them. . Covenants. . . "...Everything on the earth will die, but I will make a Covenant with you. Go into the boat with your wife, your sons and their wives." Genesis 6: 17,18 [GNT] . . Earlier on, we read that: . "This is the story of Noah. He had three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth. Noah had no faults and was the only good man of his time. He lived in fellowship with God, but everyone else was evil in God's sight, and violence had spread everywhere" . . It's incredibly uncomfortable to be the only good man in your time, it's sacrificial to live in fellowship with God. But that's the person God considers his friend. That's the person he affirms his Covenant with. That's when he would say: Everything on the earth will die but I will make a Covenant with you. There will be death around but I will make a Covenant with you. Priceless. . . . It's for this reason that the righteous must always have boldness and rejoice in the Lord. My Covenant is sure. #Covenants #Christ #Christian #faith #Jesus #believer #CovenantGod
